Today’s holiday slate provides us with a nice afternoon/early slate on DK, and a small quiet slate in the evening. Â I can’t really explain what FanDuel was thinking when they put their slate together and omitted all the early games, but here we are….
PITCHERS
Carlos Martinez … C-Mart day game chalk slate … Never a comfortable spot to be in. Â He travels to San Diego to take on the Padres who just lit up Alex Wood on Sunday afternoon and as I’ve said for a few weeks now, I am not looking forward to picking on the Padres anymore. Â This is a later start so you likely won’t have the Padres lineup out and there’s always some weird risk of Molina getting scratched which would hurt C-Mart. Â I prefer him on DK where you are just eating the chalk and differentiating with SP2.
Jake Junis … The wind is the story here in Comerica. Â Strong winds blowing out to left field and there was a little bad blood last time these teams met. Â Then again, half the Tigers are gone now, so who cares. Â Load up on Junis the Royals savior in September.
Dylan Bundy … Bundy has been near ace level his last five starts, especially his last one where he put it all together and went 9 innings of shutout baseball. Â He should be safe enough to give you a good return today.
Mark Leiter JUNIOR … Mets coming back to Citi Field after being in Houston over the weekend and that emotional series. Â Leiter’s got a ton of K% upside in his favor today against the Mets.
Rafael Montero … Call me crazy, but I might gamestack the pitchers in a Phillies/Mets September baseball game. Â Fun times folks. Â Montero has been on point lately…
LONGSHOT
Chad Kuhl … Aside from the fact that Anthony Rizzo absolutely murders the ball in PNC park, he might pitch well today. Â Best hedge stack pitcher on the slate with a Cubs hedge.
FAVORITE STACKS
Milwaukee … Homer Bailey, no further analysis required.
Angels … I love the Angels today in 80+ degree temps against Chris Smith who struggles to strikeout batters, gives up lots of home runs and just got waxed by the Angels last week.
Cubs … Any Kuhl ownership I land on will immediately have a Cubs hedge stack along with it. Â Rizzo and Heyward the top guys.
SNEAKY STACKS
Royals … I am monitoring the weather in Detroit. Â Strong (20+ MPH) winds, but the question is are they more cross winds or blowing out to left field. Â The reason here is specific to Comerica park where I have seen a massive boost in HR when the wind is pushing out to left.
Cardinals … Luis Perdomo is trash and Cardinals have started to drive the long ball again lately.
