KeymasterIts official. NFL 17 week regular season starting 2021. @playffwc committee meeting today at 1pm to discuss, but the last time we discussed it, moving from 3 week to 4 week playoff schedule was the answer with a potential doubling of the regular season avg. Thoughts?

ParticipantI’m all for doubling the average, I’m just not sure if I prefer having 3 all play weeks to start the season or have championship weeks be 4 weeks. Hmmmm

Participant<p style=”text-align: left;”>I would prefer adding the extra week to the regular season. Since we start and end the season with an all play week, the simplest solution is to add the extra all play week to the end of the season. Anything else changes the dynamics of DFWC too much. I think the goal here is to maintain the balance of the contest rather than altering it without knowing how much the changes will alter the game 13:41:45</p>

ParticipantI would vote for all play weeks to be 12, 13, 14 and not doubling the average score. This way tanking does not effect anyone.

ParticipantWhat’s tanking have to do with weekly average? Sadly there’s no true way to avoid tanking, that one guy you need to lose in final week of regular season could be facing the top team in the league. The only way around it is for admin to enter a lineup for a team thats been inactive for a given period of time.

ParticipantTanking has nothing to do with the average points. I want the all play weeks to be the last 3 weeks so a team that is not trying anymore cant give an easy win to a team that gets in the playoffs because he only needs 40 points. I guess tanking wouldnt be the biggest issue because rookie picks are determined by possible points, but rather teams not changing their lineups. Typically everyone tries in the beginning and some fall off towards the end of the year which is why I want to eliminate that possibility by having all play weeks at the end.

ParticipantTanking is kind of a moot point now anyway since the draft order is based on possible points. Benching players doesn’t really help you to get a better pick anymore.
