Adames seems to never bat higher than 6th going back to late September. This spring when he has hit 6th it’s usually with the Catcher behind him, occasionally Kiermier. It seems he is usually relegated to 7th or 8th when he is in there. Adames does seem to have a higher floor for avg and runs. Goodrum on the other hand while he doesn’t have a position going in qualifies everywhere but catcher and when he’s in the lineup seems to have the cleanup spot on lockdown going back to September!!! We all know Injuries happen as evidenced bye the flurry of hurt in the last couple of days. He does hit for lower avg with better power against righties while very effective against lefties going back to the minor leagues. I can’t seem to find what kind of fanfare there was around the signing of Adames or what kind of prospect pedigree he has but it seems to me in the here and now Goodrum has the better fantasy value. I ask this mainly because Ronis has Adsdrubal Cabrera ranked above Goodrum at 2b while having Adames above Cabrera at SS so bye correlation Adames would be ranked higher. Where would Goodrum rank among SS’s? All that said I think I just convinced myself of who I want…. What say you?

Is there a possibility Adames moves up in the lineup?

It’s possible he moves up. The Rays lineup is fluid. I wouldn’t want to use Cabrera at SS, so that’s why. Prefer him at 3B since SS is deep. They do different things. Cabrera won’t run and has a few positions of eligibility. Adames has one. Goodrum will get plenty of at-bats and he runs. If you have a preference go with it. The rankings are just a guide.

Thanks. I was just using Cabrera as a reference point. I understand the rankings aren’t a draft order list. I was really just wondering if you preferred one over the other personally and how much room to grow there is for Adames since he wasn’t drafted there is really no history other than his minors numbers. They are both young players and this season will reveal a lot about who they really are. Much appreciated.
