I’m in a 10 team keeper league and need to know who to keep and also if a trade scenario makes sense.
It’s a roto league and for every keeper we lose five rounds. Ex; player drafted in the 10th round last year costs a 5th round pick this year.
I’m keeping Correa(5th round pick), Benintendi(10th rd), miguel Andujar(20th pick or later), and after that it gets tricky.
I’ll list the players and the round designation:
These guys are round 20 or later:
and Seranthony Dominguez
I can only keep 5 players.
I also have a manager that is offering some players for trade. Baez in the 3rd, Thor in the 5th and Eugenio Suarez in the 8th. He’s looking for a draft pick after the 10th round. Baez would not be keeper eligible next year and Thor would cost me a 1st round pick next year. Is that something I should do?
Sorry this post is a book!!

What kind of league? Roto? Head to head? Points?

I stated it’s a Roto league. I know it probably got lost in all the words!!

I would keep Treinen, Peraza, Benintendi, Andujar and Correa. Don’t love the trade since you already have good keepers. It really depends on what you expect to be there in the early rounds. With only 50 players being kept and many going with the bargains, if you keep your five I would think you still should get very good players in the first four rounds.

I found out today I have the 4th pick overall. Who should I target in that spot? Or more specifically, should I go for a top tier pitcher or a batter? Trout, altuve and possibly Harper will most likely be gone. What kind of strategy should I go with given my keepers?

It’s a keeper league so don’t know what players you are looking at. You have a better idea since you can look at teams and gauge who they will keep. What do you think you will be looking at?

I could send the spreadsheets with our list of those that aren’t eligible to be kept. No player drafted in the first 5 rounds last year is keeper eligible. Top 5 players picked last year were trout, altuve, Harper, Kershaw and Max. I guess I’m looking for a strategy to go with.

Based on keepers, you’ll need some starting pitchers and power.

With this being a roto format for this league, would keeping Treinen be a better bet than Senzel?

Treinen is more valuable for this year and goes higher in drafts, so it would be easier to get Senzel later if you desire.
