The Dongers Club – MLB DFS – 9/25

SNAPSHOT

Roof open in Arizona.   Major boost for hitting.

PITCHING

FAVORITE ARMS

Aaron Nola … Nola has dodged a bullet with no Bryce Harper back in the lineup tonight and no Daniel Murphy.  He’s pitched fantastic this season and has been solid at home.  When’s the last time the Phillies were a -150 favorite against the Nationals?  2010?

Drew Pomeranz … Pom isn’t flashy.  But it’s late September, we aren’t looking for flashy.  We’re looking for 6 innings and the win.  That’s what we get with Pom.  He’s the best hedge stack SP tonight too, so roll a Blue Jays stack even though they’re bad.  It is a good park for them.

Jon Lester … If there is one team I don’t mind rostering Lester against it’s the Cardinals.  They don’t run a ton and the Cubs can come in and finish off the Cardinals this week…

LONGSHOT / SNEAKY

Felix Hernandez … King Felix has always pitched well in Oakland and has a chance tonight to pitch well going into the off-season.  The once ace has had a really rough year but draws a favorable matchup against Oakland who is still among the league leaders in K/9.

FAVORITE STACKS

Houston … Andrew Cashner has cheat codes at home, however the combination of outside elements in Texas and these Houston bats starting to heat up is dangerous.  Carlos Correa is healthy again.

Philadelphia … Been living under a rock?  Been reading too much about NFL?  The Phillies are good.  Well…  Good for September baseball.  They draw AJ Cole and the bored Nats tonight.  Love the Phils kids all series.

Arizona … Depends on their lineup, but how can one not like the D’Backs against Cueto with the roof open?  Beware of the fact that they clinched yesterday and could sit everyone today.  When Arizona rests their guys, they rest everyone.

FADES

Marlins / Rockies … The alure of playing Ozuna and Stanton in Coors is overblown.  These guys hit mammoth home runs in one of the worst stadiums in baseball.  So what if now they will travel 800 feet.  They count the same and the weather here sucks tonight.  Complete fade.

Dodgers … They have no incentive to play their guys right now.
