NHL DFS: Oct 4th Stack Plays

With Rob Geriak’s POINT SHOT starting you off on these slates I wanted to slide in and give a different perspective but do so specifically to how I would be building tournament lineups for tonight.  These breakdowns are going to apply a lot more on the larger slates where we have lots of plays to pick from and often times are better for doing multiple lineups on.

SLATE

Ten games tonight.

TEAMS ON BACK TO BACK

Washington (at Pittsburgh) and Boston at Buffalo

FULL STACKS

When I list a full C-W-W stack it’s a line that I am looking to compare the production against the total cost of the line stack.

A ‘Top’ line stack is one that usually costs more and one I am looking for three goals from.  With the three goals I need one of them to be a full tic-tac-toe stack of all three guys and the other two goals need to have atleast one helper along the same line.  This usually means that the third leg of the stack needs to be a solid value play or a situation where I think both wingers are in good spots to score.  Three goals and four assists would be a total of 18.5 points on draftkings (including the SOG).

So what I am using here is can I get 1 pt per dollar with my ceiling from the line stack to measure the value of these stacks

Plays highlighted in YELLOW are my top plays in those ranges.

THREE MAN LINE STACKS

I am listing what I feel are the top stacks along with what is also the chalk and ranking them IN ORDER OF PRICE but adding the narrative around which one I would prefer in a certain price range.

HIGH $$

  • Knights – Karlsson, Marchessault, Smith – $19.6
  • Avs – MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog – $18.9 …………. I love this stack tonight and will detail why below.
  • Preds – Johansen, Arvidsson, Forsberg – $18.8 …………. But this is 1b for me today.
  • Blue Jackets – Dubois, Panarin, Atkinson – $18.5 ………….. The issue with this stack is Dubois, I would prefer to go one off with Panarain or Atkinson

LOW $$

  • Sabres  – Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner – $16.9 …………… Too cheap to get Eichel and two guys both capable of scoring tonight.
  • Penguins – Malkin, Kessel, Hagelin – $16.5 ……………. I would much rather have the Sabres in this price range

TWO MAN COMBOS

Also ranked by C&W combination price from high to low.

High $$

  • Hurricanes – Aho & Teravainen – $12.4 — Chalk combo that I cannot stand.
  • Blues – O’Reilly & Tarasenko – $12.2 — Far better way to spend $12k of your salary than the Hurricanes

Mid $$

  • Islanders – Barzal & Bailey – $10.7
  • Jets – Little & Laine – $10.9
  • Bruins – Krejci & Heinen – $10.0

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT

Please allow me to show you some of the history of Devan Dubnyk playing in Colorado against the Avalanche as he is doing tonight …

  • March 2nd, 2018 – 5 goals allowed on 17 shots
  • January 1st, 2018 – 6 goals allowed on 32 shots
  • April 6th, 2017 – 3 goals allowed on 33 shots
  • October 8th, 2015 – 4 goals allowed on 23 shots

He sucks in Altitude …….

NATHAN MACKINNON, GABE LANDESKOG AND MIKKKKKOOOOOOO RANTANEN – Colorado Avalanche.
