NBA DFS DROPPING DIMES 8/5/2020

Today we have 6 game slate starting at 2:30 EST. Injuries and players resting are starting to set in producing some value.

Focus game: Nets vs the Celtics– Celtics will be with out Walker and the Nets are down a few players. This is the last game on the slate and had some very good fantasy value. Most people tend to use player from the earlier game, so some of this game may get overlooked. Jarret Allen, Joe Harris and Caris LeVert stand out for the Nets and their current price and Jaylen Brown, Daniel Theis, Jasyon Tatum, Gordon Hayward and Enes Kanter are good plays for the Celtics. Most people with flock to Brad Wanamaker and Marcus Smart. Wanamaker is a good play on DK at his price and Smarts price was bumped up a bit. Smart did drop 48 FPs time these two teams met so he is worth a look. His ownership should be one of the highest on the Celtics and chalk Smart does not always work out that well.

POINT GUARDS

Chris Paul

Paul has played well since the return putting up 48, 40 and 36 FPs. Today he gets to play the Lakers where he should step up, especially with the Thunder down on of their top bench scorers. Dennis Schroeder is out and this should bump Paul up a few minutes and add a bit of usage.

DeJounte Murray

Double/Double threat just about any night with potential for steals. Playing against a Nuggets team with out Harris and Barton. He should excel in this game.

VALUE

Mike Conley

Pace up spot and price is still reasonable. Hit value in two of the last three games.

Brad Wanamaker

Only 3K on DK and 4.1K on FD. Much better play on DK. He will be highly owned and is a good play on DraftKings, but a bit hesitant on FanDuel. Even with an increase in minutes he put up mediocre stats at best.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Jaylen Brown

The Celtics will be resting Kemba Walker today and with him of the floor the top two beneficiary’s  are Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Most will flock to Wanamaker who is a decent play and Marcus Smart, but Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward are the ones who do well in most of the games with out Walker. Tatum has been consistent most of the season and is a solid play as well. Brown has logged 33, 36 and 38 minutes since the return and has hit value in two of the three games and was just shy on the third. Tonight he goes up against who have allowed the third most FPs since the return. He is playing at a high level now and should continue tonight in this matchup.

Fred VanVleet

VanVleet is playing at a very high level right now.

VALUE

Jordan Clarkson

Clarkson is coming off a two poor shooting game going 6-30 and only putting up 6 FPS last game. This is a bounce back spot for him agianst the faster paced Grizzlies team. He should have no problem getting his shot off tonight and coming through with at least 6x with 8x upside. The last time he played the Grizzlies, Clarkson played 30 minutes and put up 46 FPs. I will have him locked in on all my lineups today.

Grayson Allen

Allen is playing well in the last two games and gets a go at the team that drafted him.

SMALL FORWARDS

Troy Brown Jr.

The Wizards are down a few players and Brown has done a good job filling in and stuffing the stat sheet (22,10,8 and 10,7,8) in the last two games (Points, rebound and assists). The Sixers have been one of the best defensive teams this year, but since the return they have allowed the 2nd most FPs as a team and 3rd most to opposing small forwards. Possible that he comes in at a lower ownership due to this, but see him doing well enough to pay off his price.

DeMar Derozan

Price is still reasonable for DeRozan, especially without Aldridge on the floor. 7x in two of the three games.

VALUE

Royce O’Neale

Stepping in an playing well in the absence of Bogdonovic. Gets a nice pace bump and matchup tonight.

James Ennis

Dirt cheap and playing 25 + minutes.

POWER FORWARDS

Daniel Theis

Theis has been starting at center and averaging around 28 minutes a game since the return. I can see him getting a few extra minutes with the Celtics being one more short tonight. Active player averaging 1 FPPM with a slight boost in this mathcup.

Anthony Davis

Davis just dropped 42 points on Gobert and the Jazz. He should have no problem handing Steven Adams tonight. Price is still reasonable.

VALUE

Paul Milsap

Hit value in two of the three games since the return. Playing close to 30 minutes a game. He should be able to exploit the Spurs with out Aldridge. Very high on Milsap tonight.

Brandon Clarke

The Grizzlies are with out Jaren Jackson Jr. so Clarke should step into a lot more minutes. Also, should be popular tonight.

CENTERS

Jarrett Allen

The Nets ran Allen 38 minutes a few nights ago and he produced with 22 points and 15 rebound (49FPs). He took yesterday and is fresh for tonight matchup for the Celtics who have allowed close to 60 FPs to opposing centers since the return(3rd worst). Allen should have no problem dominating down low against this smaller Celtics squad. With some of the higher priced options on the slate he should come in at a bit lower ownership.

Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic

Both of these players have shown maassive upside at exceeding 80 FPs. On paper Embiid gets the better matchup and game flow with a nice pace bump. In the two games he played the Wizards he exceeded 50 FPs in one with 53. Jokic gets a solid matchup in a slower paced game. He played the Spurs once this year and put up 49 FPs. They both have solid floors and give the slight bump to Embiid today.

VALUE

Enes Kanter

Kanter should see a few extra minutes tonight as the rotation will be one player shorter. 1.3 FPPM put him at 18-20 minutes and you get around 24-26 FPs. Add in the fact that he has one of the best matchups tonight and you get a ceiling of around 30. Excellent value tonight and do not see him coming in with much ownership at all.
