MLB DFS Fastballs & Flyballs 5/30

This article will give you an early look over view of tonight’s 7 game slate. Featuring my favorite pitchers, teams, bats and value bats. For a more detailed article take a look at Steve Renner’s Dongers Club.

PITCHERS

Martin Perez

This year Perez has increased his velocity along with  throwing the cutter more. Big difference in his performance and K rate. He faces a Rays team that is mediocre vs LHP and has a league high 30% K rate. Solid park for pitching. Looking at 6 innings 8 Ks and 2 ERs.

VALUE ARM

Joe Musgrove

Potential weather issues, so we will keep an eye on the status prior to lock. The Brewers don’t hit as well on the road .237 and a 25% K rate. Musgrove has done well at keeping the ball in h years only allowing 2 HRs all year and the Brewers are known for their power.  He also has done very well vs RHHs holding them to a .228 average and 22% K rate, which the Brewers usually run 4-5 right handed bats out. I don’t think he gets out of this game clean but I do think he pays off his 6k price tag. Looking at 6 innings 6Ks and 3 ERs.

TEAM/S

Texas Rangers

Rangers are at home vs the struggling Jake Junis in nice weather with some wind. Junis has allowed a .292 average, .365 wOBA, 43 % HC, 1.7 HR/9 and a low K rate vs LHP this year. Good news for the Rangers as the are a left handed heavy team that strikes out. Choo, Gallo, Odor, Guzman and Cabrera all have over .200 ISO vs RHP and are all in play.

*Cabrera & Choo are my favorites with Guzman and Gallo(listed as day-to-day).

Los Angelas Dodgers

Dodgers at home vs Vargas and the Mets bullpen who has struggled over the last 14 days. Turner, Hernandez,  Belinger, Taylor, Freese and Muncy all have over .200 ISOs vs LHP.

*Turner, Kiki are my favorites with Taylor and Freese coming in next. Berlinger and  Muncy are sneaky LvL.

BATS

Steve Pearce

Pearce has struggled a bit this year, but has hit a bit better as of late. He has traditionally hit well vs lefties in the past and hits well vs Happ. In his career Pearce has hit well in Yankee stadium as well. Pearce along with Martinez and Bogaerts.

Jordan Luplow

Luplow crushing the ball vs LHP with a .477 wOBA and .477 ISO, .318 average and 42% HC. Facing off against Manny Banuelos who has been getting lit up. Over the past 15 innings he allowed 24 runs, 8 HRs, 47% FB rate and 34% HR/FB rate. Luplow is 3-5 with 3 HRs vs Banuelos. Indians are in a good spot tonight vs Banuelos tonight- Luplow, Perez, Lindor & Ramirez are my favorites.

Justin Turner

I was all on Turner on Tuesday and he disappointed, but going back to him again. Excellent spot vs Vargas who has allowed a .346 wOBA, 1.5 HR/9 and 48% HC rate. Turner has elite stats vs LHP with over  .400 wOBA, .250 ISO and over 50% HC rate. Like the Kiki Hernandez/Turner mini stack as they both hit well vs LHP and at home. Also consider David Freese.

VALUE BATS

Roberto Perez- hits LHP well .294 average .405 wOBA.  Banuelos struggling as of late vs RHH’s.

Roughed Odor

Elloy Jiminez
