MLB DFS – 9/4 Main

USA TODAY Sports

Only 5 games on the night slate tonight, no reason we can’t crush though….

PITCHING

Rich Hill … I hate to do it, but Rich Hill is in play today.  No Goldschmidt really hurts the Diamondbacks and we should see some shadows here.  He’s not my top guy (Ray is better, Berrios is sexier), but the brain says go Hill.  Sadly….

Robbie Ray … Ray has dominated the Dodgers this year, is coming off a great start against them last week and is the guy I will likely have the most of.  Normally we try to shy away from pitchers facing the same team twice in a short window, but his strikeout upside and the fact that this game should have some early evening shadows in it make him the best pitching choice today.  Diamondbacks are rolling right now so you can tell Vegas to go pound sound with their money line favoring the Dodgers who I feel like have been on the road for a while now.

Jose Berrios … Tampa has gone cold.  Big time.  Berrios is a great pivot off Ray today even though his ownership on FanDuel will actually be higher than you might think.  He’s nowhere near as good on the road and sometimes struggles with his pitch count.  For me given the price tag of him and Ray, I prefer Ray.

Alex Cobb .. Another reason I prefer Ray over Berrios today?  Alex Cobb.   Go ahead and drink up on this one, but I gotta hand it to Cobb, he’s been solid compared to what I expected from him and its a big park shift down for the Twins today.  Tampa has been on the road a ton and Minnesota is worse offensively on the road.  This looks like a 3-2 game today and he’s a solid SP2 choice on DK.

FAVORITE STACKS

Atlanta … Andrew Cashner at home?  Magician.   Andrew Cashner on the road?  Disaster…   1-6 in play for Atlanta.

Toronto … Toronto started to wake up in Baltimore and comes in with some guys who are itching to absolutely go off.  Specifically, Smoak, Bautista and Donaldson

Texas Lefties … Lefties have raked in Atlanta and Texas has lots of good ones for just hitting HR’s….     Gallo, Odor, Nomar.

Miami … The Marlins welcome in AJ Cole and the Nationals after a rather boring Sunday game versus the Phillies.  Miami is rested and has proven to be a good stack at home this year where Ozuna and Stanton have no problem going yard.
