AMERICAN LEAGUE

OF Michael Brantley, Cleveland Indians

He is recovering from right ankle surgery and appeared in a few games at the end of Spring Training. He is playing in extended spring training games and should be back shortly.

SS Carlos Correa, Houston Astros

Correa is day-to-day after leaving Monday’s game with soreness in his left big toe.

DH Nelson Cruz, Seattle Mariners

Cruz injured his ankle slipping on the dugout steps on Saturday and was in a walking boot after the game. After hitting a home run in each of his first two outings, Cruz missed Sunday’s game and was just sent to the 10-day DL.

OF Delino DeShields, Jr. Texas Rangers

DeShields has a broken left hamate bone and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

1B Lucas Duda, Kansas City Royals

Duda left Monday’s game with right hamstring tightness and is day-to-day. He will miss the rest of the Tigers series and could return Friday.

OF Aaron Hicks, New York Yankees

Hicks is on the 10-day DL with a right intercostal muscle strain.

2B Ian Kinsler, Los Angeles Angels

Kinsler was placed on the DL with a groin injury on March 31. He is scheduled to return the first day he can be activated.

C Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals

Perez has a Grade 2 MCL tear and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

SP Drew Pomeranz, Boston Red Sox

He has a mild flexor tendon strain in his left elbow and is expected to be back this month.

SP Eduardo Rodriguez, Boston Red Sox

He is coming off right knee surgery and he is scheduled for a rehab start on Tuesday April 3.

OF Mark Trumbo, Baltimore Orioles

Trumbo is on the DL with a right quad strain.

SS Troy Tulowitzki, Toronto Blue Jays

Tulowitzki had surgery on Monday to remove bone spurs from both his heels and he is expected to miss eight weeks.

C Mike Zunino, Seattle Mariners

He was placed on the DL with a right oblique strain on March 30. He is expected to return when eligible.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

OF Michael Conforto, New York Mets

Conforto has progressed quicker than anticipated coming off left shoulder surgery in September. He was originally scheduled to return May 1, but he could return as soon as Thursday.

SP Brandon Finnegan, Cincinnati Reds

Finnegan is on the 10-day DL with a biceps strain. He is slated to throw a simulated game Wednesday and could join the starting rotation on Monday.

C Tyler Flowers, Atlanta Braves

Flowers in on the 10-day DL with a left oblique strain and likely won’t return until early May.

3B Jedd Gyorko, St. Louis Cardinals

Gyorko left Monday’s game with hamstring tightness.

C Austin Hedges, San Diego Padres

Hedges was scratched on Monday night due to upper back tightness.

RP Mark Melancon, San Francisco Giants

He is on the 10-day DL with a sore right forearm. He had surgery on the forearm in September. Manager Bruce Bochy said he could return in two weeks, but there’s no clear timetable. Hunter Strickland is closing in Melancon’s absence.

2B Daniel Murphy, Washington Nationals

Murphy is recovering from right knee microfracture surgery in October. He took infield practice Sunday and was moving laterally. He is supposed to play this month.

SP Joe Musgrove, Pittsburgh Pirates

Musgrove was scheduled to make his Pirates debut on Thursday, but was placed on the 10-day DL with a shoulder injury. He had some shoulder issues in the spring and made a rehab start on Saturday.

OF Wil Myers, San Diego Padres

Myers left Monday’s game with triceps soreness. X-rays were negative and he will be reevaluated on Tuesday.

C J.T. Realmuto, Miami Marlins

Realmuto started the season on the DL with a back injury and he has begun catching drills.

SP Alex Reyes, St. Louis Cardinals

Reyes is recovering from Tommy John surgery and has been throwing to hitters. He was just moved to the 60-day DL and can’t return until the end of May.

SP Jeff Samardzija, San Francisco Giants

He’s on the DL with a right pectoral strain, but is already playing catch. He is slated to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday April 3. He could return by the end of the month.

OF Scott Schebler, Cincinnati Reds

Schebler was a late scratch Monday with a sore right elbow.

OF Steven Souza, Arizona Diamondbacks

Souza is out with a pectoral injury and he threw from 90 feet and hit in the cages on Monday. He’s expected to return in early May, but is ahead of the timetable.

RP Anthony Swarzak, New York Mets

He was placed on the 10-day DL with a sore left oblique.

3B Justin Turner, Los Angeles Dodgers

Turner will begin swinging a bat next week. He is out with a fractured wrist.

SP Adam Wainwright, St. Louis Cardinals

Wainwright on the 10-day DL with a hamstring injury. He could return and start on Thursday.

C Matt Wieters, Washington Nationals

Wieters was placed on the 10-day DL with a left oblique strain. Miguel Montero should get most of the time behind the plate. Pedro Severino was called up from Triple-A to take the roster spot of Wieters.
