Chris Rose’ Early Slate Plays

PITCHING

Berrios – best “stuff” on the slate, with running fastball and nasty curve. He’s been better at home with a 3.35 era and .175 average. K rate is also at 30% at home. We don’t really have to dig, he’ll be the chalk for good reason.

Richards – Marlins prospect is back up again after a stint down with the Baby Cakes. He’s been decent at home, and reverse splits thus far in the bigs. He’s been roughed up a little bit on the road, but St. Louis hasn’t been hitting that great over the past week, right around a .228 avg. Salary saver arm, not a ton of upside but, he has shut down lefties at home .097 avg which we hope he can carry into Busch, and has been excellent in his last few starts in the minors.

Mikolas – I love Miles, he’s the guy that really won me my WFBC seat in San Diego. He’s the pivot off chalk, but doesn’t have the same upside as Berrios. He’s been great at home with a 1.53 era and 0 home runs given up. Marlins 5-9 lineup is absolutely trash, and their best right handed bat Realmuto is out as well.

STACKS

Dodgers – hottest team in baseball and Taillon struggles a bit vs LHB. Kemp is quietly having a career year and Joc up to leadoff gives us some nice value there. (Lefties first then Kemp/Taylor)

Twins – going back here today after a disappointing showing last night. Rosario is destroying RHP as is Escobar. Morrison and Adrianza are 2 bats I love for value as well. (Rosario Escobar Lomo Adrianza)

Pittsburgh – Santana got rocked in his first start on the road against Colorado. We saw what Pittsburgh can do to young pitchers. Lefties I like in this spot plus Harrison (Dickerson Polanco Moran Harrison)
