CFL DFS Week 11

Week 10 Review:

Overall it seemed like a pretty solid week. Mike Reilly did what he was supposed to do and that was ball out against the worst overall defense in the league. Andrew Harris wasn’t as effectiveas we are accustomed to, but I was happy to see James Wilder Jr. and Jeremiah Johnson have big weeks! If you found the right value at WR, your week was set! Also, big shout out to the Roughriders defense for going off against the best overall team in the league!

Week 11

QB

McLeod BethelThompson is still at a very cheap price and I will have heavy interest in him this week. He faces a Montrealteam who has just been awful and quite frankly, I will play pretty much every QB that goes up against them just because they should be able to hit value! He is only $8,700 this week and if MBT can get us to 20+ DK points, this could be a very good week. In just his two starts so far, he is averaging over 30 attempts and 280 passing yards and he is gaining another offensive weapon in Anthony Coombs being mixed back into the lineup. When looking at the Montreal defense, over the last 3 games they are allowing 42 passing attempts, 421 passing yards and 2 touchdowns per game (stats can be found @ slotbacklabs.com). I will be very heavy on Toronto and the first guy I will be plugging into my lineups will be MBT.

Zach Collaros could be an interesting play this week. Coming off a huge win against the best team in the CFL, this Roughriders team is starting to find their groove offensively. Collaros ended up throwing for 270 yards against the best overall defense in the league so I am starting to think they are turning things around regarding the passing game. BC has allowed the 3rd most passing yards per game at 292 yards per game so this could be a sneaky play overall. Collaros is priced down at 8k so it provides some salary relief for the rest of your lineup. He will be the 2nd quarterback that I look at in my lineups for this week and will probably be at lower ownership!

The punt of the week could be Antonio Pipkin. He is just $7,100 so this is more of a combination of price and matchup play than anything else. Toronto has one of the worst pass defenses in the league, averaging 317 yards and 1.7 passing touchdowns allowed over the past 3 games so this is what makes Pipkin an interesting play. Now if Manziel is good to go to start, I will most likely fade this spot for Montreal since Manziel is $8,500 and has yet to hit any sort of value from a fantasy football perspective. Keep an eye out on who is starting this week!

RB

I personally will be fading Andrew Harris and if paying up at the running back spot, I will be going back to my guy, James Wilder Jr! He continues his streak of getting double digits from a fantasy perspective and gets one of the better matchups throughout the week. Wilder has seen 15+ touches over the last 3 weeks so establishing a running game has been a main priority for this Toronto team. Over the last 3 games, Montreal has allowed 139 rushing yards and 1.7 touchdowns on the ground,so I will be locking Wilder into my lineups and moving on!

One running back that really intrigues me this week is Alex Green. He is priced at $7,100 and that is low for someone who has seen 15+ touches in his first 2 games as the starting running back for Hamilton. The Eskimos have had a little bit easier matchup recently when it comes to defending the run, partly since they played Montreal 2 out of the last 3 games. Green has established himself as the lead back in this offense and if we continue to see the consistent number in touches and usage, I will roll with him in my lineups.

The cheap lineup lock for the running back position is William Stanback. Tyrell Sutton has been ruled out against Toronto so Stanback should be the main back in this offense. He is only $4,000 so it’s hard to not just plug him in and move on. He also draws a favorable matchup against an Argos team who allows 115 rushing yards to opponents, so this should be an easy value play for your lineups! *Make sure to check the depth charts mid Thursday afternoon to make sure he is listed as the starting rb.

WR

Duke Williams had a nice game last week and I think him, Walker and Hazelton are all in play for the Eskimos. Hazelton is returning from injury this week and is knocking Mitchell out of the starting rotation. Hopefully he will be targeted like Mitchell was last week since his price can offer a nice value for this week. Hamilton has been stingy on the defensive end, especially when it comes to defending the pass, so Reilly will need to spread the ball out to get this passing offense going.

Hamilton is so tough to figure out just because of all the weapons that they have so the safest choice would be Brandon Banks. He has 5+ receptions in 6 out of 8 games played and he provides the safest floor for this wide receiving crew. He might draw a little bit lower ownership since he is priced right near Duke Williams but offers the same kind of upside! Saunders was really proving his value in this Hamilton offense but after his last game where he went for 1 reception and 26 yards, fantasy owners might be hesitant in rolling him out this week. To me, he is more of a gpp play and we will have to see more consistency from him on a week to week basis before I spend the salary on him.

SJ Green really hurt some lines last week but he draws such a great matchup this week, so I will be putting my trust back into the Green basket this week. He is more of a gpp play since you never really know what he will get you. He offers the 30-pointupside but at the same time, he can lay a stinker like he did last week with 2 catches for 28 yards. If you are looking for a cheaper option in this game, Anthony Coombs is back from injury and could serve as a good option for the Argos.

Kamar Jorden has been such a consistent play every week so I like his spot this week. Calgary lost a tough game last week, so this team will be fired up to go out and show that they are still the team to beat, regardless of one loss. Jorden has caught 5+ balls in every game outside of week 1so he is always one of the safer plays on any slate. If you are looking for more of a gppplay from this game, I think Davaris Daniels could be a good option. He is priced at $7,700 and is coming off a 2-touchdown game so they are working him more into the offense with Rogers being out for several weeks.

Jordan Williams-Lambert had himself a game last week going for 10 catches and 152 yards receiving against the best team in the CFL. He has obviously built some great rapport with Collaros and could be a steal this week at the price that he is currently at. I will make sure I have a Collaros/ JWL stack this week!

Def.

The SSK defense just dominated Calgary in the last game and scored 25 DK points and they are only $4,300 this week against a better matchup!!! They have scored 3 straight games in double digits so for some reason, DK refuses to increase their price. Give me this defense all day and move on!
