AL Offensive Sleeper— Yoan Moncada
I bought into Moncada last season, but the White Sox kept him in the minors too long for him to make a true Fantasy impact. That won’t happen this season, as I fully expect him to have a legitimate chance to go 25-25.

NL Offensive Sleeper— David Dahl
A rib injury sidelined Dahl for the entire 2017 season, but he is healthy now and should make a full return to the Rockies’ lineup. Most people are overlooking him in drafts, expecting him to be the 4th OF in Colorado. My thought is that talent wins out and that Dahl gets 450 at bats this year and establishes himself as young OF to watch moving forward.
AL Offensive Bust— Marwin Gonzalez
I like Gonzalez’s positional flexibility, but there is no way he can match his power numbers from last season. He’s still a solid player, but don’t assume that he will improve on last year’s statistics.
NL Offensive Bust— Billy Hamilton
What does Hamilton do for a Fantasy team outside of stolen bases? Now imagine that Hamilton ends up on the DL for 30 days at some point during the season for one ailment or another. If he doesn’t run, he is practically useless for Fantasy purposes.
AL Pitching Sleeper— James Paxton
It’s probably unfair to call Paxton a sleeper, but I am putting him into this category because I think he could be a Cy Young candidate if he can figure out a way to get 30 starts. He’s a 2nd round talent who is going in the 5th and 6th rounds of drafts.
NL Pitching Sleeper— Luke Weaver
As many of you know I am all in on Weaver this year. I am not sure that he is ready to pitch 180 innings, but I will be happy with 160 IP and 180Ks from this future star.
AL Comeback Player of the Year— Jorge Soler
Soler is the epitome of “post-hype sleeper.” The Royals lineup is so bad that he is assured of getting 450 at bats. If he can play close to his potential, that should mean a season of 20-80 from a guy you can get in the reserve rounds of your draft.
NL Comeback Player of the Year— Gregory Polanco
Polanco disappointed his Fantasy owners tremendously last season, but I think he makes amends in 2018 by going 20-20. If the Pirates have any chance to compete for a playoff spot, Polanco will be hitting in the middle of the order and have tons of chances to knock guys in.
AL Stash and Cash— Eloy Jimenez
The White Sox are going to try to not rush Jimenez (much like they did with Kopech and Moncada), but his power is so beastly that they might not be able to keep him down in the minors for long. He has 30 HR potential and we could see that as early as 2019 if given the chance.
NL Stash and Cash— Nick Senzel
The Reds like his bat so much that they are having Barry Larkin teach him how to play SS to get him in the lineup more quickly. He’s an offensive force who won’t come out of the lineup anytime soon once the Reds put him in it.
